Maddi Freundlich joined Poly Prep in 2023 as a Middle School history teacher. Previously, she taught Seventh Grade Humanities at the Shady Hill School in Cambridge, MA. As an educator, she particularly enjoys leading projects that allow her students to show off their creativity and unique perspectives. In 2020, Maddi earned an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Teaching at Boston University and completed her student teaching through Shady Hill’s Teacher Training Center. Prior to teaching, she worked in development for the nonprofit Facing History and Ourselves. Engaging with conscientious Facing History students confirmed for Maddi that she wanted a career as an educator herself. She graduated from Skidmore College in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and a minor in Education Studies. Outside of teaching, Maddi enjoys music, hiking, and theater.
