Learning specialist Rebecca Heus joined Poly’s Lower School in 2023. Before Poly, she worked for eight years at the Hannah Senesh Community Day School as both a learning specialist and first grade teacher. A daughter of educators, Rebecca grew up on school campuses in Long Island and Connecticut. After graduating from Hamilton College, she moved to New York to attend the Bank Street School of Education where she earned a master’s degree in General and Special Education. When not teaching, Rebecca can be found running in Prospect Park, throwing mugs at her local pottery studio, or reading just about anywhere. Rebecca loves working with elementary students; their humor, curiosity, and creativity remind her of why she’s in this field.
